Who is clio?
In Greek mythology, Clio is the muse of history. The name is etymologically derived from the Greek root which means to recount, make famous or celebrate. Clio often makes her appearance with an open scroll or set of tablets. Here she's seen sitting over the clock in the old House of Representatives in the United States Capital.
As a class, we're going to call on Clio this year as we work our way through history. We will recount and celebrate the people, places, and events that have made history the exciting story it is.
Also, as we study this year you will have the chance to earn Clio Awards for exceptional performance and understanding of certain projects or subjects. These awards can also come with special bonuses such as homework passes, extra credit, and more. So keep up with everything and stay tuned in with what's coming up next.
