The following extra credit opportunities are yours for the choosing. However, you may only do 1 project from any category for a maximum of 30 points. ALL EXTRA CREDIT MUST BE TURNED IN BY JANUARY 6th at 3pm.

Documentary Diagnosis (5 pts)
Select a film from the following list and watch it. As you watch, answer all the questions on the associated worksheet (see attached files at bottom of post) in complete sentences.

Newspaper Project (20 pts)
Your assignment will require you to research create and write a newspaper that covers a year in a Medieval kingdom. Specifically, you are to create five significant event dealing with things like harvests, construction, war, and death. Poems, pictures, and comics are great too. You can Report on a trial by ordeal, or maybe add an interview.
You will then create a ½ page story of each event, in the form of a newspaper article, setting forth:
Design It! (30 pts)
You may complete a physical project for EXTRA CREDIT. This project will have to do with the Middle Ages. The project should be either a 3 dimensional model or a detailed diagram/map; in either case this must be something you have constructed yourself. The project cannot be a part of a kit you bought at a store. You are free to decide for yourself as to what you might want to make.
Your project will be graded according to the following criteria:
Originality - This includes your basic idea and the materials you use and how they are used.
Project Detail - Amount of time given to detail and the effort put into the project. Amount of items built both within the project (if a structure) and around it. Was there an unusual amount of time put into this project?
Project Appearance - Do the parts of the project neatly come together? Is it sturdy and not falling apart? Was attention given to neatness and detail? Was the paint and glue applied neatly and not messy.
Special Note: The BASE of your project cannot exceed 24” x 24”. If your project exceeds that measurement, points will be deducted from your total. When you turn your project in, you must have a card attached to it with your name, class period, and a short description of your project. Your project will NOT be graded if this is not included with your project.

- What did you learn from this film that you did not know before you began watching it?
- Would you recommend this film to another viewer? Why or why not?

- Make a model of a medieval castle or town making sure to label and describe all the key parts.
- Make a poster or model illustrating weapons and/or tools used during the Medieval Times. Label and briefly describe their uses.
- Make an exhibit of the various ways people dressed. (Can be a book of designs or you can sew dresses for dolls etc.)
- Make a mosaic showing some aspect of medieval life.
- Create a coat of arms for a European family or fiefdom or your own family.
- Make a poster or model of a Medieval castle and its different parts.
- Poster of the stages of knighthood and the parts of a knight’s armor.
