Happy scheming!
Below are links to your class's maps for the WWI simulation. This should allow you to track what's going on and work outside of class to try and achieve your objectives. However, it is a VIEW ONLY map so you can only look and can't manipulate anything.
Happy scheming!

Watch this Student Orientation video to get ready to begin our WWI simulation next time! You should have all received your portfolio list in class recently. Remember that you need to collect all the items on that list into a 3 ring binder with a cover page with your name, class, and period. Most of the items listed are things we did in class, except for the portfolio activity. This term you have the option of picking between an art analysis project and creating a mock tombstone and obituary for one of the historical figures from the Renaissance era. Below you will find copies of the portfolio list as well as the instructions for your portfolio activity. Let me know if you have any questions! Portfolios are due March 2nd (A-day) and 3rd (B-day)
Have you ever seen a baseball card? Or maybe a Pokemon card? What kinds of things do you usually see on them? Most often one side of the card is dedicated to an image of the important person or player that the card is about, while the flip side of the card is full of information about them. Statistics, who they played for, any major achievements they accomplished or events they've been a part of. Well now it's your turn. You are going to create "baseball cards" for 9 of the major Renaissance scientists that contributed to the Scientific Revolution.
Not to worry though, you'll be working in a group. You will be responsible for researching 3 of these major scientists. You will then share you information with your group and they'll share theirs with you. Once you have the information you need you can start creating you baseball cards. You will be turning in and graded on YOUR creation of ALL 9 cards. These cards should be made by hand and follow the instructions (see below).
Just a bit of an update for your Museum Projects. Remember this will be the last thing to go on your grade this term so make sure that you put effort into it to make it a fun and exciting experience for everyone and - of course - to earn the grade you want.
First, I got the final decision from the administration about bringing in replicas of weapons technology. Here it is... If you are doing a topic that involves weaponry and would like to create a replica of a sword or something like it, you may as long as you adhere to the following:
Second, remember to bring any supplies you need to build your project tomorrow (or Monday for B-day). You will have the entire class to work on the project and I want to make sure you can be productive. If you get everything assembled you may leave it with me until the presentation. Also make sure that you have a copy of your curator notes and resource citations ready to go so that I can create the Exhibit Catalog and make copies. Keep up the good work and I'll see you in class! |
